Joyful dance for adults who know that play still matters.
Dance Circle is a joyful, small-town experiment in music, movement, and community that runs at 6 pm on Monday nights, June 29th through August 8th.
This is a beginner-friendly dance class pilot for adults who want to move to music they love, learn fun choreography, and be part of something playful, welcoming, and local.
I’ll bring choreography to the table from things that inspire me: a healthy dose of throwback jams, music videos, movies, the internet, musicals, line dance, jazz, original work, and quirky pop-culture gems. We’ll learn it together in a welcoming, low-pressure space.
No dance experience needed.
No perfection required.
Nervous beginners are very welcome.

FAQ’s
-
Dance Circle is open to everybody, but it’s especially made with adults who value playfulness, music, movement, creative expression, and feeling good in their bodies.
It’s for people who miss dancing, people who secretly wish they danced more, people who love a good movie dance or music video moment, and people who want a joyful movement practice without fitness-culture pressure.
Nervous beginners are very welcome.
-
No. Dance Circle is beginner-friendly by design.
We’ll break choreography down slowly, practice in sections, use counts, try it with music, and build confidence as we go. You do not need to be coordinated, flexible, fast, or “a dancer” to join.
Curiosity counts more than coordination.
-
The mix may change from series to series, but Dance Circle can include choreography inspired by nostalgic pop, music videos, movies, TV, musicals, line dance Charleston, Jazz, Fosse-inspired movement, internet faves, off-the-beaten-path gems, and original choreography.
Some dances may be short and playful. Some may build over multiple weeks. Some may be iconic. Some may be delightfully ridiculous.
That range is part of the fun.
-
Dance Circle is starting as a pilot because it’s a new offering, and I want to let it grow thoughtfully with the people who show up.
Rather than pretending I already know exactly what this should be, I’m treating this first round as a experiment. We’ll test the format, the schedule, the pricing, the level of choreography, and the overall vibe — and learn what feels useful, joyful, and sustainable.
-
After the pilot, I’ll take what I learn from the first round and decide what makes the most sense next.
That might mean another six week session, a regular weekly class, occasional themed workshops, guest/community-led dances, or a mix of those things.
I’m happy to hear your feedback, our experience together will shape the class.
So this first round is a beginning — not a finished product. It’s a chance to see what wants to grow.
-
Not exactly.
You will move, sweat a little, wake up your brain, and probably leave feeling lighter — but Dance Circle is not built around burning calories, sculpting anything, or pushing your body into fitness goals.
It’s built around music, memory, rhythm, laughter, confidence, connection, and joy.
-
We’ll start with a warm welcome and a gentle warm-up, then learn choreography step by step.
We’ll break the dance into small sections, practice with counts, try it with music, and give ourselves room to laugh, adjust, simplify, or add a little flair.
The goal is not perfection. The goal is to enjoy moving together.
-
Yes. Dance Circle is beginner-friendly and drop-in friendly, so you can still join even if you miss a class.
Every class is designed to stand on its own, with the exception of the final class—where we will celebrate by reviewing and dancing what we have learned throughout the series.
-
No performance is ever required.
Dance Circle is primarily for the joy of dancing. In the future, there may be optional community dance moments, flash mobs, filmed routines, or playful performance opportunities — but those will always be optional.
You can come just to dance.
